Kuykendall Group Camp sits at about 2,600 feet in the Pisgah National Forest, with a single group site designed to accommodate both tents and RVs rather than individual campsites. The clearing is shaded by hardwoods and backed by the sound of Kuykendall Creek, and the immediate amenities are straightforward and practical: picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, lantern posts, vault toilets and a source of drinking water. Because the site is intended for group use, expect one shared space rather than multiple private loops or hookups; the environment leans toward rustic group gatherings rather than full-service RV resort comforts. The campground is roughly 4 miles west of Brevard and about an hour from Asheville, so you can combine forest seclusion with nearby town services and cultural options. Recreation in the area takes advantage of the Appalachian terrain hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing for stocked trout in the creek and a nearby lake, swimming spots and scenic drives through mile-high peaks and waterfall country. Note an important access detail: the roadway to the site requires a creek crossing, and heavy rains can make that crossing difficult; a high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended.
