“Mr. Smith the Camp host keeps an Excellent campground. Bathroom was PERFECT. Thank you for providing my family with such a wonderful experience!”
“Huckleberries everywhere! It was a nice spot, disregarding the jerks on boats who show up to shoot fireworks. The road needs to be graded, but other than that, a very nice spot.”
“We had a great time there and the camp host was the best. The sites are nice and they have hand pump water. The only thing to be aware of is you’re 22+ miles from the main little town so take everything you need. Cell service isn’t really available. ”

Murray Bay Campground sits along the shore of Hungry Horse Reservoir high in the Rocky Mountains, less than 30 miles from the Continental Divide and about 31 miles southwest of the West Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park. The reservoir itself covers roughly 27,750 acres and is framed by tall mountain peaks and the massive Hungry Horse Dam the reservoir's creation supplies hydroelectric power and flood control, and the dam ranks as the 10th highest in the United States. Boating is a main attraction here, with a concrete ramp right in the campground, and swimmers and anglers will find plenty to do; anglers commonly catch cutthroat trout. Hikers, hunters and wildlife viewers can use the campground as a base for exploring the broader Flathead National Forest, which also offers biking, horse riding, picnicking, and winter-sports opportunities across its trail network and backcountry areas. To reach the campground from Martin City, head south out of town onto East Side Reservoir Road and follow it for about 22 miles to Murray Bay. The campground has 20 total campsites, and all 20 are set up to accommodate both RVs and tents; 11 of those sites can be reserved in advance while 9 are held for walk-up visitors. Sites come with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills; roads and parking spurs are gravel. There are accessible vault toilets and drinking water available from two hand pumps, but those pumps are not intended for filling RV tanks, so plan to arrive with tanks full. An on-site host is present during the season to help with questions, and the stay limit is 16 consecutive days. Reservations can be made by phone at 1-877-444-6777; the first motorized vehicle per site is included in the fee, and a second vehicle is permitted for $5.00 per day, payable on arrival. Cancellation requests within the four-day reservation window will be considered for a refund of camping fees only and automatically forfeit the first night's fee; day-of-arrival cancellations should be called in to Cheryl at 406-752-PWAI (7924) or 406-404-4164. No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
