Fall Creek Campground sits along the main body of Lake Cumberland on a compact 10-acre parcel at 1144 New Fall Creek Road, just a short drive outside Monticello. The site is forested with mature hardwoods that shade the waterfront campsites and provide a steady backdrop of birds and occasional deer. The campground contains 11 total campsites: ten that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site, and many of the sites are right on the water, making them easy places to drop a line or launch a boat. Practical amenities are concentrated for convenience you'll find flush toilets and showers, drinking water, a dump station for RVs, a boat ramp for lake access, a playground for kids, a picnic shelter and day-use area, plus public parking. The access from Monticello is simple: take KY-90, turn onto KY-1275 and continue onto county Road 2393 to reach the campground in roughly a 5 6 mile drive. The campground is a good base for everything Lake Cumberland offers: boating and water sports on one of the largest lakes east of the Mississippi, miles of shoreline for shoreline fishing, and abundant angling opportunities for largemouth, smallmouth, white and Kentucky bass, bluegill, crappie, rockfish and walleye. Onsite features especially the boat ramp and waterfront sites make it particularly appealing to anglers and boaters, while the surrounding recreation area supports hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, historic and cultural visits, and environmental education programs. If you want a nearby cultural stop, Mill Springs Mill Park is about a 15-minute drive and offers interpretive tours and live grinding at 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays during the recreation season. Check with the park office or the Lake Cumberland recreation website for up-to-date information on fees, reservation policies and seasonal availability, and expect weekend and holiday demand for the limited waterfront sites.
