“Extremely satisfied with this RV park. It is well maintained and the staff was very friendly. Beautiful sunset views along the beach sites. Going back next month.”
“This was our first time visit. Our site was ok, but the gate guard was very rude and hateful and ruined what could have been a pleasant experience. We wouldn't come back again if the sites were free.”
“Weather was perfect…. Our campsite was a great location with a view of the lake. Had the pleasure of watching the deer eat every morning and every evening. Looking forward to our next trip. Our pup enjoyed the dog park where she could run free. ”

Cotton Hill Campground sits right on the shoreline of Walter F. George Lake at the Georgia Alabama line, about 7 miles north of Fort Gaines on State Route 39. The site is spread into four clearly named loops MVIE (21 sites), OMI2 (18), OMIR (31) and PINE (32) for a total of 102 campsites. Ninety-two of those sites are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, while 10 are tent-only sites. Facilities for overnight visitors include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry and a dump station; there's also a boat ramp and fish-cleaning station for anglers, two playgrounds for children, and a group picnic shelter available on a first-come, first-served basis. Many of the developed sites provide utility hookups such as electric and water, and several primitive options remain for campers who prefer a simpler experience. The campground is a practical base for lake-focused recreation: boating, swimming, fishing and general water sports are immediate draws on the lake's 85-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River and its roughly 640 miles of shoreline. Anglers can expect largemouth and white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish and bream; convenient shoreline spots and the nearby ramp make launching and bank fishing straightforward. Beyond the water, mixed hardwood forests surrounding the campground offer opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing deer, waterfowl, hawks and songbirds are commonly seen and the broader recreation area supports horseback riding, auto touring and other concession-based activities. For historic and cultural outings, the antebellum architecture of nearby Eufaula, Alabama and Cuthbert, Georgia are within easy reach. For current fees, reservations, seasonal openings and any access notices, check with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or the official park reservation channels before you go.
