“Great location and clean campsite. Mint mobile service not the best if you need service which we didn’t but everything else was fantastic. Thank you so much”

Cutthroat Bay Group Campground sits on the northern shore of Lake Granby at about 8,300 feet, six miles southeast of Grand Lake and roughly nine miles north of Granby along Highway 34; you'll find the campground on the east side of the highway. The site consists of two accessible group campsites in total, and both are configured to take RVs as well as tents. Each campsite is set up to host groups of up to 30 people and includes a covered picnic shelter, multiple picnic tables, a designated campfire circle and a dozen tent pads. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and the campground also has a volleyball court and horseshoe pits for casual recreation. Because mountain pine beetle mitigation removed hazardous trees, there is little natural shade in the campground plan on sun protection during the day and typical afternoon thunderstorms in summer. The campground is immediately useful as a base for on-water activities and trail access: Lake Granby is part of the Arapaho National Recreation Area and offers boating (a boat ramp and dock are nearby), sailing, swimming and fishing for kokanee salmon and several trout species including rainbow, brown, mackinaw and cutthroat; National Fishing Week takes place the first week of June. A network of hiking, biking and horseback trails is accessible from the recreation area highlights include the East Shore Trail (part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail), AA Barn Loop, Roaring Fork and Monarch Lake trails while Rocky Mountain National Park's west entrance (north of Grand Lake) is close enough for day trips to high-alpine scenery, wildlife viewing and additional trail options. For up-to-date information on fees, reservations and seasonal openings, check with the Arapaho National Recreation Area or the Forest Service before you go.
