“Was a bounty of peace, tranquility and super galactic omnipresent oneness achieved. Camp Host was engagingly friendly. Love him! All fellow campers really do not care what you're doing. The bears are friendly too... I assisted one crossing the road... ”
“We really liked this campground. Our solute wasn't too close to the highway so it was pretty quiet. Nice pull thru space. Nice host on site. ”
“Great campground next to the river! Nights can be a bit chilly, and note the noise from the highway.”

Silver Creek Campground sits along the Truckee River just off Highway 89, roughly eight miles south of Truckee and midway between Truckee and Tahoe City. The sites are set among lodgepole pine and fir, and a handful of campsites look directly onto the river, so you'll hear running water from many campsites. The facility contains 26 single-family sites in total: 14 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 12 designated tent-only sites. Every site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill; vault toilets and a drinking water source are provided. The campground is operated and maintained by Tahoe National Forest and is compact enough that the river, trailheads and facilities are all within easy walking distance of most campsites. The Truckee River here is a draw for anglers fly-fishing for rainbow trout is common and the river also sees swimmers and people floating on tubes in summer months. For day trips and longer outings, the campground is a convenient base for a wide range of activities across Tahoe National Forest: hiking and mountain biking on nearby routes (including connections to the Western States Trail, Five Lakes Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail), boating and fishing at nearby reservoirs (Prosser, Boca and Stampede) and Lake Tahoe, and access to Olympic Valley. Truckee is about ten minutes north with groceries, fuel, restaurants and other services. Because fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings can change, check the Tahoe National Forest recreation pages or call the forest office before you go to confirm current policies and road conditions.
