“Beautiful site, convenient to Gamaliel (1 mile), Mountain Home (the Big City!) about 5 miles away. Pretty campsites. Reasonably clean shower houses/bathrooms. Exceedingly friendly and helpful camp host. ”
“We just love camping at Bidwell out of all rest camp grounds! It fits us really well. Now that it’s open from April to October we get to stay at Bidwell the whole time. We love it!”
“Our stay at Bidwell was fantastic! We enjoyed the lake and our camping site was perfect. Brian, the park attendant, is courteous and attentive! He is the best and part of the reason Bidwell is our favorite camping location!”

Bidwell Point sits on the north shore of Norfork Lake beneath a canopy of oaks and pines, a campground that puts the water within easy reach while still giving you the wooded character of the Ozarks. The loop contains 49 campsites in all: 48 sites are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and offer electric hookups, and there is one tent-only site for those seeking a slightly more rustic stay. Several waterfront sites can be reserved for continuous, unobstructed views of the lake; the campground also maintains a large swim beach and a playground that make it a straightforward choice for families. A group picnic shelter with electric hookups can hold up to 200 guests for reunions or events, and nearby marinas on Norfork provide boat rental and basic supplies and services so you can leave major gear at home if needed. If you make a reservation, note that cancellations up to two days before the reservation start date incur a $10.00 cancellation fee. The lake and surrounding public lands shape most days here: wide, breezy stretches of water are well suited to sailing and high-speed water sports, while quiet coves invite kayaking, tubing, or a sheltered fishing spot. Norfork is noted for its fishery striped bass are a draw, black bass fishing is strongest from September through May, and night fishing with lights for crappie and white bass has become increasingly popular. Trails such as the Robinson Point National Recreation Trail put photographers and naturalists into changing seasonal views of the forest-topped, heavily eroded Ozark plateau, and the 1.2 million-acre Ozark National Forest lies just south of the lake for longer backcountry excursions. The broader Norfork Lake area supports a range of activities listed at the site boating, camping, environmental education, fishing, hiking, off-highway vehicle use on designated public lands, picnicking, playgrounds and specialized sport sites, water sports, and wildlife viewing so whether you're launching a boat, casting a line after dark, or hiking a ridge for the sunset, Bidwell Point is a practical, well-equipped base camp for exploring this stretch of the North Fork River created 22,000-acre reservoir.
