“We were on site 4 which was full sun for our solar package. Space was. Ig enough to accommodate our truck and camper”
“Host was helpful. If in an RV make sure you have water before you arrive only a hand pump at camp. Water is available at Watpi campground about 20 east of 3 mile. Very close to Yellowstone east entry.”
“Host were very helpful and friendly. Explained everything about the site and gave helpful info. ”

Threemile Campground sits along the North Fork of the Shoshone River at about 6,700 feet, shaded by a stand of lodgepole pine and framed by nearby mountain slopes. The site is compact there are 20 total campsites, all configured for RVs (20 RV Sites) and intended for hard-sided camp trailers or motorhomes; tent-only camping is not the campground's design. Campsites are equipped with a picnic table, a campfire ring and a food-storage locker at each site (a practical necessity given frequent bear, elk and other wildlife activity). Basic amenities include vault toilets, two hand-pumped drinking-water spigots (one is accessibility compliant), and trash collection; campers are permitted to gather firewood in the surrounding forest. A few sites look directly over the river, which gives the campground a quietly riverfront character without the infrastructure of a large developed park there are no claims here of hookups or showers in the supplied information, so plan for self-contained RV needs. The campground's location makes it a convenient base for a range of outdoor pursuits: the North Fork of the Shoshone River is a well-regarded fly-fishing stretch for rainbow and Yellowstone cutthroat trout, and the nearby Pahaska Trail gives hikers access into the North Absaroka Wilderness. Scenic drives along the Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway lead three miles east to Yellowstone National Park's east entrance and roughly 49 50 miles back to Cody, Wyoming, where services and museums are available. Pahaska Tepee, about a mile west, preserves Buffalo Bill's 1904 hunting lodge and offers daily tours in summer, plus guided horseback rides, a restaurant and a small gift shop. Wildlife viewing is a major part of the experience around Threemile expect to see everything from bald eagles and foxes to deer, moose, bison and occasionally grizzly bears and the wider Shoshone National Forest supports biking, climbing, boating, winter sports and more. For up-to-date information on fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings, check with the Shoshone National Forest office before you go.
