Ken's Lake Group Sites sit just beyond the turnoff to the lake about 8 miles south of Moab on Highway 191, offering direct access to a small reservoir and the red-rock landscape that defines the Moab Valley. The campground has TOTAL CAMPSITES: 2 SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites and 1 Equestrian Sites arranged in two loops (Group Site A is in the first loop on the right and Group Site B is near the end of the second loop on the left). The lake at the edge of camp supports swimming, paddle-boarding, limited boating (electric motors only) and fishing, and a short walk will take you to the water or up to a man-made waterfall. From the campground you can walk or drive onto nearby hiking, equestrian and four-wheel-drive routes that thread into canyons and mesas; Group Site A includes corrals for horses. Basic onsite amenities are geared to groups: picnic tables, shade shelters, fire grates and vault toilets, but there is no potable water, dump station or electrical hookups, so plan to arrive self-sufficient with drinking water and RV waste arrangements. Group Site A is permitted for up to 40 people and Group Site B for up to 25 people; both sites carry a $125 fee. Reservations are required and are handled only through Recreation.gov (you may reserve the day of or up to six months in advance where service is available); cash and check payments are not accepted onsite. Important policy notes to keep in mind: changes to reservations that move you completely outside your original dates or shift you to the other group site incur a $10 change fee, while extensions or shortenings that keep original dates have no change fee; cancellations carry a $10 service fee and late cancellations (less than 14 days before arrival) forfeit the first night's fee in addition to the $10 service charge. No-shows are assessed a $20 Recreation.gov service fee plus forfeiture of the first night; refunds must be requested through your Recreation.gov account (within 7 days after departure) and fees such as booking or change fees are non-refundable except in emergency closures. There is cell service for most providers at the campground entrance, and for questions or reservation assistance you can contact the BLM Moab Field Office at 435-259-2100 or blm_ut_mb_mail@blm.gov. The sites sit within easy driving distance (about 15 20 minutes) of Moab's shops, outfitters and tour operators and provide a convenient base for day trips to Arches, Canyonlands, nearby national monuments and the La Sal mountains.
