“Airport park is a beautiful camp. It is clean and well maintained. The only draw back is the 5:00 am flight to Dallas. It goes directly over the park and is a definite wake-up call each morning. Otherwise it's a great place to relax and unwind.”
“Bathrooms were clean. Campsite was maintained. But the water’s edge was a disaster. Overgrown and stickers everywhere. Having access to the water was our priority and we did not really get to enjoy that. ”

Airport Park sits on the northern bank of Waco Lake just below the dam, offering a curious mix of lakeside calm to the south and steady airport activity to the north you can cast off from the campground's boat ramp and dock one minute and watch a commuter plane lift into the sky the next. Waco Lake is fed by the Bosque River and is notable for being the largest lake in the United States located entirely within a single city's municipal boundaries; its main shoreline holds a lot of submerged timber that attracts catfish, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and sunfish, so anglers will find steady opportunities year-round. The campground is open year-round and supports boating, fishing, water sports, wildlife viewing and hiking around the lake; environmental-education programs and guided tours are available nearby at Waco Lake Wetlands (about a 15-minute drive), and the City of Waco attractions Magnolia Market is roughly 10 miles away and Cameron Park Zoo is also close make it easy to combine a lakeside outing with town visits. For local information and reservations, call (254) 756-5359 or (877) 444-6777; the group shelter can be reserved in advance and is equipped with electric, sewer and water hookups, a six-foot grill, a 12-foot serving bar and picnic-covered pavilion that accommodates about 80 guests. Total campsites: 69. Site type breakdown: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites, 46 RV Sites, 22 Tent Sites. Of the 46 RV sites, full 50-amp electric and water hookups are provided and 22 of those RV sites include sewer hookups; there are also eight screen shelters with electrical outlets and water. The group camping area includes a shelter plus eight campsites with electric and water hookups (six of those have sewer hookups) and fits roughly 80 people when used together. The campground layout is organized into distinct loops and site clusters: Group Shelter with 7 RV sites 37-43: 1 sites; Sites 1 - 27: 27 sites; Sites 28-36, 43-45: 11 sites; Sites 46 - 66: 16 sites; Sites 67 - 81: 14 sites. Airport Park is accessed from Waco via the Lake Shore Drive corridor off I-35 and sits between the airport and the lake, so plan for easy highway access but also occasional aircraft noise; contact the park for current fees, reservation rules and any seasonal advisories before you arrive.
