“Awesome place to camp! Abrams falls was a beautiful hike!”
“We have stayed here before and love it. It's very clean and everyone is friendly. We like to ride our bikes here. Our site was next to the river which we enjoyed. The spaces are big and somewhat private. We will stay again if traveling in that area.”
“The sites were beautiful, the fall colors gorgeous, and the rangers most helpful with us and kind and courteous to all checking in. A great experience at Cades Cove. We will return.”

Cades Cove Campground sits on the broad valley floor of Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a landscape of farm fields, open meadows and forested ridges that draws more than two million visitors a year. The campground puts you close to the 11-mile Cades Cove Loop Road famous for wildlife viewing and access to over 90 preserved log buildings, historic churches and mills and to hiking that ranges from short interpretive walks to the roughly 5-mile round-trip trail to Abram Falls. Abram Falls is modest in height (about 20 feet) but impressive in volume; the trail follows pine-oak ridges and hemlock- and rhododendron-lined creek corridors to a long deep pool below the falls. Horseback options are available nearby (one-hour rides, hayrides and carriage rides run March through October), anglers will find cold-water streams with plenty of trout, and the loop itself becomes a special experience on Bicycle Only Days when motor traffic is restricted. The campground combines a primitive feel with basic modern comforts: 161 campsites in all, 130 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 31 tent-only sites, with flush toilets and drinking water on site. Sites are arranged in loops; Loop B includes 85 sites where generators are permitted, and a generator-free loop contains 76 sites for quieter camping. Cades Cove is open year-round, but both Loops B and C operate from mid-April through the Thanksgiving weekend; during the off season (December through mid-April) only sites C1 12 and C26 61 are available by reservation. When Loop B is closed for the season, generators are temporarily allowed in Loop C during restricted hours until B reopens. A seasonal camp store (May October) stocks basics and rents bikes, and the nearby amphitheater hosts interpretive programs. Reservations and rules are handled through Recreation.gov (see rules and reservation policies) and the campground requests that you call the office at (865) 448-4103 if you will arrive late or need a same-day cancellation to be eligible for a refund; cancelling the day before or the day of arrival carries a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee (one-night reservations forfeited in full), and early-departure refunds must be requested the day you leave. For current road, weather and campground conditions check www.nps.gov/grsm before setting out.
