About

Kiasutha Campground occupies a stretch of forested hills along the Kinzua Arm of the Allegheny Reservoir, accessed from the Longhouse Scenic Byway a short drive north of Kane or southeast from Warren. The campground contains 91 reservable family sites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring and tent pad; loop roads are paved and sites are configured as both RV and tent sites, with a mix of back-in and pull-through spaces and electric hook-ups available for RVs. Facilities are straightforward and campground-focused: flush toilets, drinking water, hot showers, a dump station and a bathhouse, plus an amphitheater where rangers offer interpretive programs. The day-use beach and picnic area can hold up to 900 people, and visitors will find parking, on-site sales of firewood and ice, 24-hour campground attendants, and an accessible fishing pier reached by a paved trail. Reservations and any cancellations must be handled through Recreation.gov; for facility-specific questions call the campground number at (814) 363-9090. The setting emphasizes water access and forest character black cherry, maple and mixed hardwoods shade many sites while others look out over the narrower Kinzua Arm, which tends to be calmer than the main reservoir. A boat ramp and dock at the campground make launching for boating or fishing convenient, and a large grassy beach is used for swimming and sunning. From here it's easy to explore more of the Allegheny National Forest by auto touring the Longhouse Scenic Byway or accessing trails and fishing spots in the surrounding woods; the Kinzua Dam and the Kinzua Bridge area are within easy driving distance for day trips. Whether you want a walk-in primitive experience close to the trees or an RV site with hookups and easy vehicle access, Kiasutha offers a practical base for boating, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing and other forest recreation.
