About

Red Bridge Campground sits on the eastern shore of the Kinzua Arm of the Allegheny Reservoir, alongside the Longhouse Scenic Byway, and is shaded by mature black cherry, hemlock and birch that give the loops a quiet, woodlands feel. The campground's shoreline location means swimming and bank fishing are right at hand, and a public boat launch is close by for longer trips on the 25-mile Allegheny Reservoir created by Kinzua Dam. Hikers will find the North Country National Scenic Trail only about an eighth of a mile south where it crosses SR 321, and the broader Allegheny National Forest offers miles of trails, wildlife viewing, biking, hunting, horseback riding and auto touring opportunities beyond the campground boundaries. There are 64 reservable sites at Red Bridge: 51 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, 10 tent-only sites and 3 glamping sites; in addition, two sites have rentable cabins. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring and tent pad, and the campground provides hot showers, vault and flush toilets, drinking water and a dump station; some sites are waterfront while others overlook the water, and sites with electric, water and sewer hookups are available. On-site services include firewood and ice sales, interpretive programs and 24-hour campground attendants; reservations and any cancellations or changes must be handled through Recreation.gov, and for facility-specific questions call (814) 363-9090.
