“This a beautiful park! I wish the corp of engineers would dredge the lake to add value to it! We love camping here!”
“Beautiful campgrounds! Gorgeous view of the lake, the handicap site was well designed. Overall one of the better campgrounds. Only drawback was if it was full the campsites would be too close together, but it was almost empty so it was great. Bathrooms were clean ”

27349 HEYBURN LAKE ROAD
Open in Google Maps ↗
Sheppard Point sits on the shore of Heyburn Lake in the Sandstone Hills of Oklahoma's Osage Section, where grasslands meet gently sloping, wooded hills. The campground offers 26 total campsites: 20 sites set up to accommodate both RVs and tents and 6 tent-only sites, spread among oaks, blackjack, and the occasional hickory, ash, elm or cottonwood. A small group of equestrian-friendly sites provides tether poles behind the campsites so horses can be kept close and riders can head straight onto the multi-use nature trail. Practical comforts at the loop include hot showers, a playground, group picnic shelters, and a boat ramp that puts you onto Heyburn Lake within minutes of parking. The recreation possibilities are straightforward and lake-focused: anglers chase catfish, bass and crappie from shore or boat; boaters and water-skiers use the ramp and open water; and swimmers use the designated swim beach. The multi-use trail is used for hiking, sightseeing and horseback riding, and wildlife viewing is common look and listen for white-tailed deer and wild turkey around dawn and dusk. Sheppard Point is reached from the Kellyville/Sapulpa area south of State Highway 33 and is roughly 20 miles south of Keystone Lake and under 30 miles southwest of Tulsa, making it a relatively quick escape from the city. Fees, reservations, seasonal openings and any vehicle or horse regulations are set by the park, so check the official Heyburn Lake information before you go to confirm availability and current requirements.
