“The loop with hookups had sites pretty close together and unlevel. Hoses to water spigots were run across the road by campers. Generally neat and kept up facilities. The non hookup loop had really nice sites so if hookups aren't required, those are the ones to shoot for.”
“People should not be allowed for their dogs to run loose”

Spencer Creek Campground sits along the shores of Oologah Lake about 15 miles from the town of Oologah via county roads and roughly an hour north of Tulsa, offering direct access to the lake's broad water and wooded shorelines. The campground contains 69 total campsites: 68 sites configured for both RVs and tents and 1 tent-only site. Many campsites include 30-amp electric hookups, and the loop layout includes an A-LO loop with 29 sites plus a small boat-ramp loop with 1 site. On-site facilities include flush and pit toilets, showers, a dump station, a playground, and a boat ramp located within the campground, while Corps of Engineers staff maintain the area and can provide up-to-date information about fees, reservations and seasonal availability. The recreational focus here is firmly on water and woods. Oologah Lake (nearly 30,000 surface acres and more than 200 miles of shoreline) supports boating, sailing, water sports, and swimming; prevailing winds around the lake make it a local favorite for sailing, and several boat ramps and docks are scattered around the reservoir. Anglers will find black bass, crappie, paddlefish, channel and blue catfish, walleye, and hybrid striped bass, and family-oriented events such as the Kid's Sun, Fun and Fishing Derby take place in June. Trails and upland habitat extend into the surrounding forested hills and the Oologah Wildlife Management Area (about 13,000 acres) for horseback riding, hunting and wildlife viewing, and the Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail runs 18 miles along the east shore for hiking and riding. Nearby attractions include the Dog Iron Ranch the birthplace of Will Rogers and a living-history site with a post-Civil War home, educational programs, picnic space and a lakeside pasture plus privately owned lodges and concession services elsewhere on the lake. For current rules, fees and reservation options, contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managing Oologah Lake.
