“Very nice place with beautiful sunsets. Our site was spacious and shady, however it did have an uphill slant to it. Restrooms were clean.”
“Care takers guest had an unleashed dog that came into our campsite and approached our leashed dog. I had to chase it off”
“Camp ground was clean and very peaceful! The staff there was very accommodating and even put on a movie night for my kids to enjoy! I will definitely be back! Thank you! ”

Blue Creek sits on the east shore of Oologah Lake about 45 miles northeast of Tulsa, where wide stretches of open water meet forested ridgelines. The lake itself covers nearly 30,000 acres with more than 200 miles of shoreline, much of it shaded by old-growth post oak and blackjack oak that support deer, turkey, ducks, geese and other wildlife. Prevailing winds make this one of the region's better lakes for sailing, and you'll also find good opportunities for water skiing, swimming and casual boating boat ramps and docks are scattered around the lake rather than concentrated at a single marina. Anglers will find black bass, crappie, paddlefish, channel and blue catfish, walleye and hybrid striped bass here, and the area hosts a Kid's Sun, Fun and Fishing Derby Day each June. For land-based outings, the Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail runs 18 miles from Blue Creek Park down to the spillway and is open to hikers and horseback riders; beyond that, nearly 13,000 acres of the Oologah Wildlife Management Area offer hunting and additional wildlife viewing. The campground itself provides a practical mix of services for both RV and tent campers. Blue Creek has 51 campsites in total: 50 sites configured for both RVs and tents and one site designated tent-only; many of the sites are spacious and include electric hookups, and there is a loop of equestrian sites for riders. A group day-use picnic shelter with electric is available for gatherings and can accommodate up to 100 guests. Corps of Engineers staff maintain the recreation areas and provide information, safety oversight and seasonal programming, so check with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or the official Oologah Lake pages for current fees, reservation options and seasonal availability before you go. Nearby cultural options include Dog Iron Ranch, the birthplace of Will Rogers, and the campground's road access from U.S. 169/Highway 88 makes it an easy drive from the Tulsa metro area.
