Fletcher View sits high in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, about a 24-mile drive from Las Vegas along Highway 157 (Kyle Canyon) roughly 18 miles up from its junction with Highway 95. The campground opens onto an open pine-and-oak forest that parallels a seasonal stream and the highway, with most sites offering clear views of the canyon walls rising around the site. The Spring Mountains feel like an island in the desert: more than 100 springs feed the range, and the area supports unusual residents such as ancient bristlecone pines and the rare Mount Charleston blue butterfly. Outdoor opportunities extend well beyond the loops at Fletcher View more than 60 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding wind through the recreation area, two trails allow mountain biking, and rock climbing, picnicking and scenic drives are popular ways to spend the day. A paved nature trail at the campground lets you stretch your legs without a long hike. The campground itself is small and recently updated, with a total of 11 RV-designated sites, each equipped with electric hookups, a picnic table, a campfire ring and a grill; drinking water is available on-site and roads and parking spurs are paved. Fletcher View is open year-round, but because the site sits in a flood plain it has a seasonal policy: reservations are not available during the monsoon period (mid-July to mid-September), and overnight stays during that window are allowed only as weather permits forecasted heavy rain typically means no overnight use. Beyond those restrictions, the facility supports a range of forest activities listed for the Humboldt-Toiyabe area, including biking, climbing, fishing, horseback riding and winter sports, so plan your trip with local conditions in mind and expect a quieter, more compact campground experience with solid RV services and direct access to the Spring Mountains' trails and scenic features.
