Whitten Park Campground sits along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Fulton, Mississippi, offering direct access to the long canal and lock system that connects the region's lakes and rivers. The site fronts clear stretches of the waterway with three public boat docks, a sandy swimming beach with a gazebo that looks out over passing boats, and a fishing dock where anglers often cast for bass and crappie; boaters can also head offshore from the park. Trails weave through wooded habitat around the campground, giving hikers and wildlife viewers a chance to move away from the water and into quieter, shaded loops, and families will find picnic areas and playgrounds a short walk from most campsites. The park is within the Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center Park and sits roughly four miles north of I-22 on Highway 25, making Tupelo about 15 miles to the west an easy day trip for cultural sites and services. The campground provides 60 total campsites: 59 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 1 designated RV-only site, spread across three loops that give easy access to playgrounds and restroom buildings with showers. Many sites offer electric and water hookups, so you can expect basic hookups at most pitches; beyond hookups you'll find the simple, practical amenities that support boating, fishing, swimming and day-use picnicking. Because fees, reservation windows and seasonal schedules can change, check with the managing agency before you arrive for up-to-date information on reservations and any access requirements. Whether you plan to launch a boat at the docks, cast from the shore, or follow the nature trails, Whitten Park delivers a straightforward, water-focused camping experience on the Tenn-Tom Waterway.
