Indian Creek Campground sits on the northern shore of Mark Twain Lake and is the largest camping area on the reservoir, offering a mix of wooded and lakeside settings that suit both RVs and tent campers. The campground contains a total of 211 sites: 191 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 20 tent-only (primitive hike-in) sites, arranged among several loops (including EPOI with 59 sites and ICRE with 20 sites). On-site conveniences include showers and restrooms, multiple playgrounds, a fish-cleaning station, a sandy beach and hiking trails that thread the shoreline. Boaters will find a public ramp right at Indian Creek; the campground also supports larger groups with a dedicated group campground that provides 25 electric campsites plus a group shelter, restroom, shower and playground for organized outings. Mark Twain Lake is known regionally for good bass and crappie fishing, and the broader recreation area supports a wide range of pursuits boating and water sports from the ramp and beaches, hiking and environmental-education opportunities on local trails, picnicking and playgrounds in day-use areas, plus historic and cultural visits to nearby Mark Twain State Park and Hannibal (about a 20 30 minute drive). The Clarence Cannon Dam at the lake's east end houses a power-plant display, and the David C. Berti Shooting Range sits below the dam at the Warren G. See South Spillway for those seeking target shooting. Other amenities and services around Mark Twain Lake include horseback riding, concession-operated recreational services, a visitor center and privately owned lodging; fees, reservation policies and seasonal openings vary, so plan ahead by checking the park office or the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for current rates, site reservation windows and any access requirements.
