“Very nice set up. Parking spots and tent sites were nice and level and established. Would recommend this camping site. Camp host does run a tight ship and everything is kept very clean. ”

Stoddard Creek Campground sits a short drive off Interstate 15 about 1 mile from the Stoddard Creek exit (Exit 184) and roughly 17 miles north of Dubois, Idaho among a mix of Douglas fir and aspen where Stoddard Creek runs just below the campsites. The campground has 20 total campsites; all 20 are set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, so whether you're towing a trailer or carrying a pack you'll find appropriate camping space. Facilities are straightforward and practical: picnic tables and campfire circles at sites, vault toilets, drinking water, trash collection, and an on-site campground host. There is also one accessible group site that can hold up to 50 people; note that the group site (formerly designated site 008) was moved to a new group area beginning the 2019 season, and all reservations made for the old site are being transferred to the new group area. The setting makes Stoddard Creek a good base for a range of outdoor pursuits: fishing on local streams, hiking and mountain biking on nearby trails, and motorcycling or ATV riding on forest roads are commonly enjoyed here. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is reachable about 8 miles away where it crosses I-15, and the broader Caribou-Targhee National Forest supports activities from boating and horseback riding to wildlife viewing and winter sports. Essential services phone, fuel and groceries are available 5 miles away in Spencer or 17 miles away in Dubois, so plan resupply accordingly. For current fees, reservation options beyond the group site, seasonal openings and any access requirements, check with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest office before you go.
