“This is a small, well kept location with a great view.of the Mississippi River, a boat ramp and very nice camp hosts. There is a lot of close train traffic noise at times. If loud noise bothers you then you might reconsider.”
“Wish sites all Had water hookups. Lots of noisy trains even during night. Host very nice.”

Clarks Ferry sits on the Iowa side of the upper Mississippi River where large, mature trees shade a compact, well-equipped campground that opens directly onto riverfront scenery. The loop contains 45 sites in total 44 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one site set aside for tents only and every campsite is fitted with a 50-amp electric hookup, a picnic table and a campfire ring, so rigs and tent campers alike have basic comforts. A boat ramp and a dump station are on site for people launching or traveling with watercraft, and a recently added accessible fishing dock expands shoreline access for anglers and viewers. The river edge is close enough that river traffic, seasonal shifts in light, and plain, wide river views are part of the daily rhythm here; in winter months eagle watching becomes a regular draw along this stretch of the Upper Mississippi. Recreation at Clarks Ferry is straightforward and family-friendly: two playgrounds, a picnic shelter, horseshoe pits and a volleyball area are clustered near the camping loop, and the river is the focal point for boating, fishing and wildlife watching. Anglers come specifically for channel catfish, bluegill, walleye, crappie and northern pike; the accessible dock and boat ramp make both shore and boat fishing convenient. Beyond the campground, the Pools 11 22 corridor provides hiking trails, interpretive programs and additional wildlife-viewing opportunities, and nearby destinations include Shady Creek Recreation Area and Wildcat Den State Park for longer outings. Practical details such as fees, reservation windows and any seasonal closures aren't included here, so plan to check the managing agency's current information before you go; the campground is easiest to reach from Davenport by taking Highway 22 about 15 miles west toward Montpelier and following the Clark's Ferry signs.
