“This was our first visit to Doll Mt and hopefully will not be our last. The campground is well maintained and the sites are very accommodating. Ellijay and Blue Ridge are close and both towns are charming. Plenty of hiking opportunities.”
“Great Campground Quite and Great Location! The sewer clean out area was very clean and everything serviceable. The Camp host was Friendly and available but not pesty! Often times camp host are the biggest violators with junk all around their camper but not here! Great job”

Doll Mountain Campground sits on the western shore of Carters Lake, about 70 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the southern Blue Ridge Mountains. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Mobile District), the campground sits among heavily wooded ridges that slope toward the lake's rugged, undeveloped shoreline Carters Lake itself covers roughly 3,200 surface acres with some 62 miles of shoreline. Doll Mountain is a mid-sized site with 49 total campsites: 35 sites configured for both RVs and tents and 14 tent-only sites. Many sites have electric hookups, and the campground provides the essentials you need for multi-day stays flush toilets, two large restrooms with hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, a children's playground, and a day-use area for picnics. Doll Mountain also has its own boat ramp and boat trailer parking, and the access road into the campground sits across from the local volunteer fire station; the physical address is 1362 Doll Mountain Road, Ellijay, GA 30540. Recreation centers on the lake and the surrounding ridge country. Boating is the main draw at Carters whether you want to run a powerboat, sail, or paddle a canoe and Doll Mountain's ramp puts you on the water quickly; the wider project has six ramps spaced around the shore to serve anglers and boaters. Fishing is strong (largemouth and smallmouth bass, hybrids, striped and spotted varieties, crappie, walleye, bream and catfish), though bank fishing is limited because of steep shore gradients, so a boat makes the best access to productive water. Mountain biking, hiking, wildlife viewing, playground time and picnicking are all available within the recreation area, and Ridgeway Park and Woodring Branch Recreation Area, with additional trails and terrain ranging from easy to challenging, are both within about a 45-minute drive. For up-to-date information on reservations, seasonal availability, fees and any access requirements, call the campground/local number at (706) 276-4413 or the general information line at (706) 334-2248.
