“Our reservation was easy to schedule. We arrived and the camp host, Linda, was able to help us switch sites to site 12 to accommodate our trailer easily. I was so impressed with her hospitality and she kept the campground was immaculate. ”
“This campground is well taken care of and clean. It is quite close to the highway so there is road noise and the camp spots are pretty small and not very flat, but it has great trees. My favorite part was the hiking trail leading down to the creek. ”
“Clean, spacious campsites with a beautiful walk down a steep hill to the creek. The host was so nice, greeted us right away and even brought us cookies! Vault toilets but they were very clean. Can’t wait to come back. ”

Boise Creek Campground sits about 2 miles west of Willow Creek along State Route 299, tucked between Brush Mountain and Brannan Mountain at roughly 680 feet elevation. The site is shaded by a stand of Pacific madrone, Douglas fir and California bay, with oak pockets across the landscape; many campsites back up to a creek where a half-mile trail leads to a small swimming hole. The campground offers 17 sites in all 14 that accommodate both RVs and tents and three that are tent-only each equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets and drinking water are available on site, and you drive in directly from the highway, so access is straightforward; check current Forest Service sources for up-to-date information on fees, reservations and seasonal opening dates. Outdoor options radiate out from the campground: the Trinity River is only a short drive away for fishing (including migratory salmon and steelhead), swimming and whitewater rafting, while closer to camp you can hike, bike or ride horses on local trails and take a leisurely spin along the Trinity Scenic Byway. Willow Creek, less than two miles away, supplies fuel, propane, groceries, basic medical services and restaurants, plus local attractions such as an 18-hole public disc golf course and the annual Bigfoot Days celebration. For a broader view, the Brush Mountain lookout about three miles southwest of Willow Creek and standing nearly 3,988 feet offers panoramic forest and canyon vistas. Because the area supports habitat for several threatened and endangered species, including bald eagles and peregrine falcons, campers should follow posted wildlife and fire regulations and consult the forest office for any site-specific restrictions.
