“What a beautiful spot! The camp host Joe was so friendly and helpful. Easy river access and so close to the Redwoods. Very clean restrooms and sites. We will come back! ”
“Great little campground. Site 5 had enough room for our 29 foot camper and the truck to park next to it with a shady spot and picnic table. There was even a little path that led down to a beautiful spot on the creek.”

Patrick Creek Campground sits where Patrick Creek meets the middle fork of the Smith River in the Douglas-fir forests of northern Six Rivers National Forest, about 22 miles east off U.S. Highway 101 via Highway 199 from the Crescent City area. The site retains visible 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps work stone steps, rock walls, sunken campfire circles and original restroom masonry that give the loops a compact, historic feel. The campground contains 12 total campsites; all 12 are configured to accommodate both tents and RVs, and the facility advertises multiple single-family accessible campsites. Campsites come with picnic tables and metal campfire rings with grills; accessible flush toilets and a drinking water source are provided on site. Water recreation is the draw here: the Smith River runs just beside the campground, offering easy places to swim, sunbathe, raft or fish for salmon, steelhead and cutthroat trout. There are no trailheads inside the campground itself, but day- and overnight hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking are convenient the Elk Camp Ridge, High Dome and French Hill trailheads lie within roughly 10 miles. Beyond the immediate site, Six Rivers National Forest supports auto touring, horse camping, OHV use, fire-lookout and cabin overnight opportunities and other RV camping options. Practical details such as fees, reservation windows, seasonal openings and current fire restrictions change regularly, so plan to check the Forest Service or Recreation.gov for up-to-date reservation and fee information before you go; the campground's accessible toilets and site configurations make it a reasonable choice for groups needing accessible facilities.
