About

Kaibab Lake Sites and Group Areas sits at about 6,800 feet in the pine-and-grass landscape of Kaibab National Forest, a short drive north of Williams on State Highway 64 toward the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The campground contains a total of 75 campsites, all configured to accommodate both tents and RVs (sites accept trailers and motorhomes up to 40 feet), and is laid out in several loops Loop G (3 sites), Loop A (8), Loop B (16), Loop C (16), Loop D (15) and Loop E (12) with individual, double and group sites among them. Picnic tables and campfire rings are standard at sites, and there's a group picnic area, restrooms, trash receptacles and water faucets; drinking water is available for campers, but motorhome/RV water tanks cannot be filled because of a limited supply. Small conveniences are on-site (firewood bundles, ice, bait and ice cream), and a nature trail winds through the facility so you can stretch your legs without leaving camp. The lake itself is a focus for anglers there's an accessible fishing pier and a small boat ramp but swimming is not allowed, so plan on boating and shore fishing rather than waterplay. Nights at this elevation are darker than in the valleys, making star fields easy to spot on clear evenings, and summer daytime temperatures generally range from about 50°F at night to the 80s 90s by day; be aware that the summer monsoon can build quickly (especially July August) and snow is common December through March. The campground makes a convenient base for broader forest recreation and regional sightseeing: Kaibab National Forest offers more than 300 miles of trails (including routes that run along Grand Canyon rims), plus opportunities for biking, boating, horseback riding and horse camping, fishing, hunting, interpretive programs, wildlife viewing, winter sports and overnight stays in fire lookouts or cabins. Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim is roughly an hour north, while Williams and Flagstaff provide shopping, dining and services; for facility-specific information, reservations and current fees or access rules, call +0000000.
