Willow Beach Campground sits on the banks of the Arkansas River beside the David D. Terry Lock and Dam, a low-lying riverfront site framed by forested river edges and the rolling cotton fields beyond. The campground contains 24 sites in total: 21 sites are set up to serve both RVs and tents and include electric and water hookups, while three are tent-only sites. Practical amenities are straightforward and camper-focused there's a dump station, hot showers, a boat ramp for launching into Pool 6, and a playground for younger visitors. Three group picnic shelters are available for day use and may be reserved in advance. At 193 feet above sea level the area has mild winters and hot, humid summers that can climb into the upper 90s, and wildlife is easy to spot: red foxes, white-tailed deer and armadillos move through the trees, while waterfowl frequent the river edges. Little Rock is just a short drive away, so groceries, fuel and restaurants are within easy reach. The river itself is the campground's main draw. Willow Beach gives direct access to Pool 6, where excellent fishing concentrates in old river cutoffs and the tailwaters below Terry Lock and Dam and upstream at Murry Lock and Dam anglers commonly take bass, crappie and bream. The boat ramp makes launching for fishing trips and other water sports simple, and the waterways nearby support duck hunting and upland hunting in surrounding forests for those with permits. On shore, the site is set up for classic day-use recreation: picnicking at shelters, playground time for kids, and easy wildlife viewing along the banks. If you plan to use a group shelter or arrive with an RV, confirm availability and any fees or reservation requirements with park staff before you go. To reach Willow Beach from Little Rock, follow U.S. 165 east a short distance and use the local park roadways to the riverfront park.
