“This is such a beautiful location and the cabins are wonderful. However, there are no comfortable seating options. It is not necessary to have a single bed in the living area. Instead a sofa or two chairs would be welcoming. ”
“We were in a good location, no one bother us and it was very quiet during the day and throughout the night. We did not participate in any activities except kayaking, which we brought our own. The small pier needs to be repaired, so the young children can fish off of it.”
“Beautiful sites right on the lake, clean restrooms and great trails for hiking an biking.”

Lake Wedington sits beside a 102-acre lake in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests, about 13 miles west of Fayetteville on Highway 16 (and the same distance east of Siloam Springs), making it an easy weekend escape from northwest Arkansas towns. The recreation area combines a historic built environment six Civilian Conservation-era cabins restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places with a modern campground setup: there are 27 total campsites on the property, of which 18 are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, six are designated glamping units, and three are tent-only sites. Campsites offer a tent pad or parking spot, picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill and access to nearby bathhouses; there are no electric or water hookups at individual sites, but a dump station is provided. The main day-use complex includes a lodge (day use, up to 200 people), a pavilion for up to 75 people, a boathouse, historic cabins (each with electricity, heating/air conditioning and a simple kitchen stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and basic cookware/tableware), a park office and a gatehouse. Reservations are required for the lodge, cabins, group pavilion and group campsite; individual campsites can be reserved in advance or taken first-come, first-served when available check recreation.gov or contact park staff for current fees, seasonal availability and reservation details. The entry road is negotiable for RVs of all sizes, but guests should plan to bring linens, towels, food and other basic overnight supplies because cabins do not provide bedding. Outdoor activity options focus on the lake and the surrounding trail system. Boating is allowed with motors of 10 horsepower or less; there's a boat ramp and a roped swimming area for warm-weather dips. Anglers can fish for largemouth and spotted bass, bluegill, channel catfish and bream, and Lake Wedington is notable for producing very large grass carp (an 80-pound specimen once came from these waters). Hikers and mountain bikers will find the Lakeshore Hiking Trail that loops much of the shoreline and the North Twin trail that extends about 16 miles from the recreation area; a gazebo off the Lakeshore Trail and a seasonal waterfall when the lake is high provide scenic photo points, and rolling hills and mixed hardwoods make fall foliage especially attractive. Wildlife includes deer, rabbits, songbirds, wild turkeys and wintering eagles, though hunting is expressly prohibited inside the recreation grounds (seasonal hunting is allowed on adjacent National Forest lands check Arkansas Game & Fish and park staff for regulations). If you want a mix of lakeside recreation, historic cabins and straightforward campsite amenities within an easy drive of Fayetteville and Siloam Springs, Lake Wedington delivers a compact, well-serviced base for fishing, swimming, paddling, trail riding and wildlife viewing.
