“Excellent campground! Beautiful views, extra long sites, spotless bathrooms. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We will be back. The only thing lacking is sewer sites.”

Jennings Ferry Campground sits on the edge of the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway between the Black Warrior River and Clear Creek, about seven miles east of where Highway 43 meets Highway 14 north of Demopolis. The facility contains 50 campsites all configured to serve both RVs and tents and each site offers 50-amp electrical and water hookups. Sites are described as spacious and private, most set at or close to the gently sloping shoreline so boats can be launched with minimal fuss. On-site conveniences include a shower and restroom building, picnic areas and a playground for families, plus a boat ramp equipped with security lighting for after-dark arrivals. A half-mile nature trail follows the water's edge through hardwood forest, and the campground sits roughly 100 feet above sea level within woodlands where deer, squirrel, wild turkey, migratory birds and bluebirds are commonly seen. Fishing and boating are the main draws here: anglers can fish from shore or from boats for bass, crappie, bream and catfish, and the larger Black Warrior & Tombigbee Lakes system some 457 miles of combined shoreline and nearly 39,800 surface acres of water supports water-skiing, sailing, powerboating and jet skiing. Boat launching ramps are available at most Corps-managed recreation areas and three private marinas nearby offer fuel, repairs, rentals and supplies for longer outings. Expect warm season temperatures in the 80s to 90s from April through September and about 60 inches of annual rainfall. For facility-specific information or to check availability, call (334) 402-1606; reservations are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and USACE reserves the right to modify or cancel reservations due to site closures.
