Smith Mountain Campground is family owned and operated, on the south side of Smith Mountain Lake in Pittsylvania County, on Route 40 between Rocky Mount and Gretna. We are open year round. There are 52 full-hookup sites with sewer and 30 or 50 amp power, pull-throughs included. Most pads take rigs to 45 feet and our longest pull-through handles 50. There are also 10 water-and-electric sites, tent and van sites, and a lodge. Big rigs welcome. The bathhouse has four private tiled rooms, each with its own shower. Free Wi-Fi throughout, a new laundry and a guest dump station. On the property: a stocked catch-and-release pond, a private walking trail, a new fenced-in dog park, a covered pavilion, a playground, horseshoes and cornhole. Dogs are welcome on every site. A public boat launch on Smith Mountain Lake is just under five miles away, and Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Booker T. Washington National Monument and several local wineries are all a short drive. Early check-in and late check-out are available subject to availability. Monthly sites are available year round for snowbirds and work crews.
