Perched at about 7,500 feet in a high Wasatch basin, Bountiful Peak Campground sits roughly nine miles up Farmington Canyon from Farmington (accessible from I-15 via State Street/exit 325), with the final approach on a steep, narrow dirt road. The site is wooded in a mix of conifers and aspen that offer partial shade through the summer and vivid color in the fall, while summer wildflowers and regular wildlife sightings add to the mountain character. There are 30 campsites that accommodate both RVs and tents; picnic tables, fire circles and vault toilets are provided but there are no hookups or flush toilets listed. Trails for hiking, mountain biking and off-highway vehicles are right from the campground, and Skyline Drive passes nearby for easy scenic drives and vantage points with views toward the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Back. Anglers and hunters will find opportunities in season, and the campground is a reasonable base for quick day trips to family attractions in Farmington Lagoon is about 10.1 miles away and Cherry Hill roughly 11.1 miles. Practical details are straightforward: typical fees include $22 for a single site (standard capacity 8 people, 1 vehicle) and $45 for double sites (capacity 16 people, 2 vehicles); a group site rents for $103 (capacity 80 people, up to 20 vehicles), and five day-use picnic sites are available at $15 (capacity 8 people, 1 vehicle); extra vehicles are $1 each. Payments accepted on site are cash, check, or Scan & Pay, and a Salt Lake District season day-use pass is available for $95 (note that pass access excludes group sites, amphitheaters and glamping). Reservations and changes go through Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777; facility-specific questions can be directed to (385) 273-1100. Be aware of the site's reservation and cancellation rules: a $10 service fee applies to most changes or cancellations, late cancellations may forfeit the first night's fee (and additional penalties apply for some short-notice or single-night cancellations), no-shows can be assessed a $20 fee and forfeit use fees, and refund requests must be made within 14 days of the scheduled departure.
