Jana L ★ 3 · Oct 2025We were at group site A. The pavilion was great and lots of parking. The cleanest outhouses I have ever been in. The only problem we had was 1/3 of the cement under pavilion turned into a HUGE puddle in the rain. The rain ran down the side walk connected to the cement slab and puddled under the pavilion on the S end.
Mae Joy G ★ 4 · Jun 2025Great campsite (Group B). Close to river access, bathroom, and garbage. Shady table area. I wish it were comparable to group site A in size and had tables under the trees. The host, Leah, greeted us and let us know she's available. I'd definitely come back and try to rent Group A.
Cait R ★ 5 · Mar 2025Amazing spot! The pictures aren’t updated, the fire pit has been moved to a better location & the pavilion is metal and not slated, so you get protection from sun & water. If everyone in your group is tent camping, you may run out of spots to put the tents. We had 5 families in tent & 2 in campers & plenty of parking space for 7 cars plus the two campers but not plenty of level tent areas.

Big Bend Group Sites sit along a scenic stretch of the Colorado River about eight miles up SR-128 from the junction north of Moab, offering canyon views, cottonwood shade and a small river beach where groups can relax between activities. The campground contains three reservable group sites all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents with capacities and fees set by site: Site A holds up to 40 people for $175, Site B up to 20 people for $100, and Site C up to 30 people for $150. Sites A and B are in the main campground with direct river access; Site C sits across SR-128 in a short side canyon for more privacy but has no river access. On-site amenities are practical and straightforward: fire rings with grates, picnic tables, shade shelters, vault toilets and trash removal. There is no potable water, no electrical hookups and no dump station, and trailer/RV parking is limited (groups needing space for multiple trailers or larger RVs are directed to the Lone Mesa group sites on SR-313). The campground is a good jumping-off point for half- and full-day family river trips on the Colorado, as well as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, four-wheel-drive tours and wildlife viewing fall is a strong season for spotting desert bighorn sheep and the regional attractions of Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point are within easy reach; supplies, rentals and services are in Moab about 30 minutes away. Because Big Bend group sites are reservable through Recreation.gov there are a few rules and fees to keep in mind. You can change or cancel reservations through your Recreation.gov account prior to arrival: simple extensions or shortenings that include original dates do not incur a change fee, but changing to entirely new dates or switching to another Big Bend group site carries a $10 change fee; you cannot make changes after the arrival date through the account, although the BLM Moab Field Office (435-259-2100) may be able to assist. Cancellations refund the reservation minus a $10 service fee; late cancellations (less than 14 days before arrival) forfeit the first night's fee in addition to the $10 service fee, and no-shows are assessed a $20 Recreation.gov service fee and also forfeit the first night's fee. Refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov account within seven days of departure, and interagency pass discounts do not apply to group campsite reservations. For current area conditions, vehicle limitations, or assistance with changes and closures, contact the BLM Moab Field Office and follow Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly principles during the busy spring and fall seasons.
