Magnolia Ridge sits on the northwest shore of B.A. Steinhagen Lake between Woodville and Jasper, offering a year-round campground with 37 reservable campsites 31 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 6 tent-only sites. The park road system makes for pleasant 3 5 mile family bike loops, and a playground keeps kids occupied between lake time and the Kid's Fish Pond, which is the focus of an annual Kid's Fish Day each June. Practical facilities are straightforward: group day-use and overnight picnic shelters with electrical hookups, flush toilets, showers and a dump station are on site to support multi-day stays. Access from Woodville is easy a short drive east on US-190 and a turn north onto FM-92 and the park operates year-round, so you can plan weekend outings or longer stays any season. Be aware of the reservation and cancellation rules: campsites are reservable, no refunds are issued at the field location, and cancellations made within 14 days of arrival incur a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's use fee. The lake itself defines the recreation here: Magnolia Ridge includes boat ramps and docks for launching canoes, powerboats and other watercraft, and B.A. Steinhagen Lake is known locally for largemouth bass, catfish and crappie fishing. Beyond angling and boating, the surrounding East Texas Pineywoods a mix of pine uplands, bottomland hardwoods and pine-hardwood forests supports abundant wildlife viewing, from waterfowl and songbirds to white-tailed deer, foxes and rabbits. Interpretive and environmental-education opportunities occur around the lake, and nearby the nearly 13,000-acre Angelina-Neches/Dam B Wildlife Management Area expands options for hunting, hiking and more wildlife watching. If you prefer services offsite, the broader Steinhagen Lake area includes privately owned lodging and resort options, but the campground itself focuses on simple, well-equipped access to boating, fishing, picnicking and wildlife-focused days on the water and in the woods.
