“Loved the views but stickers were out of control”
“Beautiful sites, well maintained facilities, and very friendly people. Thank you!”
“They have some great view sites of the lake and if you have a lifetime seniors pass you pay half price. Either way it's a great place to stay and very affordable. The people there are very friendly too. ”

Yegua Creek sits along the shoreline of Somerville Lake, offering a low, lakeside landscape where pelicans and other waterfowl are a common sight and the main draw is water access. The campground is part of the larger Somerville Lake recreation area, so boating, water sports and fishing white and hybrid-striped bass, crappie, catfish and the occasional largemouth bass over 10 pounds are easy to arrange from the two on-site boat ramps; remember that lake facilities are intended for registered campers. Hikers and cyclists can use nearby trails, and horseback riding and wildlife viewing are listed among the broader recreation options around the lake. If you want to explore farther afield, Rocky Creek Park provides additional shoreline access and the small city of Somerville is under 10 miles away for groceries and restaurants. Nearby points of interest noted by the park include the Bluebonnet Trails, Independence Day Trek and Salt Grass Trek for seasonal or special-event outings. The campground itself has 77 sites total: 62 are set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, while 15 are tent-only sites; 65 sites offer 50-amp electrical service with water hookups, making the loop RV-friendly and convenient for longer stays. Modern comforts at the campground include flush toilets and showers, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, an interpretive trail for short walks, a dump station for RVs and two boat ramps right at the shoreline. Practical details like fees, reservation policies and seasonal availability can change, so plan to contact the park office or the managing agency before you go; directions put the park north of Brenham off Highway 36 with a short drive on FM 1948 to the park complex.
