“This is an outstanding park! Very well kept and managed. The volunteers do an outstanding job at their duties. Fire pits always cleaned between reservations and sites turned around quickly. Bathrooms and showers are always spotless. Lots of areas to hike and walk. ”
“Our experience at Ives Run was great! The campsite and bathrooms were clean and quiet. Wonderful place to take beautiful walks. Definitely would go again.”
“Despite a rocky start due to DOGE, the park has revived.”

Ives Run Campground sits on the eastern shore of Hammond Lake, where forested ridges of the Allegheny Plateau frame a wide water surface created by the Tioga-Hammond Lakes Project's two dams. The campground contains 187 total campsites 181 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 6 tent-only sites spread across multiple loops (for example, ASPE has 18 sites, GROU has 25 sites and PINE has 32 sites). There are five reservable group picnic shelters for day use, and other practical amenities for overnight stays include hot showers, a dump station, playgrounds, a grass swimming area with a concrete bottom, sport fields and a volleyball court. A boat ramp and rental mooring slips put the lake within easy reach of campers; note that mooring slips are first-come, first-served for campers only. Shelter fees vary: weekday shelter use is listed at $0.00 (available by reservation or first-come, first-served), shelter nonelectric weekends are $75.00 and shelter electric weekends are $100.00. All reservations including any changes, cancellations or refunds must be made ahead of arrival at www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777; reservation transactions cannot be completed at the facility. Additional fees may apply for some amenities. Outdoor opportunities at Ives Run and the broader Tioga-Hammond Lakes area are wide ranging: boating, water sports, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, picnicking and environmental education programs are all mentioned among available activities. Anglers target species such as crappie, giant musky, striped, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye and channel catfish, and the facility's overnight mooring and ramp make multi-day lake trips practical. Four hiking trails are accessible from the campground, and near the visitor center an approximately mile-long Archery Trail provides targets and tree stands for archers. The surrounding fields and hardwood forests are used by hunters pursuing local large and small game, and concession and specialized sport sites in the recreation area support other organized activities. Located about 4 miles south of Tioga and 12 miles north of Wellsboro on State Route 287 (accessible from U.S. 15 northeast of Tioga and U.S. 6 north of Wellsboro), Ives Run occupies a scenic stretch of the Endless Mountains region while remaining convenient to regional highways.
