“Beautiful place to camp. Point campground has nice large sites and most have a view of the lake.”
“The USACE staff is great, the rest of the people here are the worst, nobody respects their neighbors or the quiet hours.”
“We love to go there. Lots of things to see and do there. The campsites are laid out nice and usually pretty easy to park your campers and vehicles.”

Raystown Lake, 6145 Seven Points Road
Open in Google Maps ↗
Seven Points Recreation Area sits along the central shoreline of Raystown Lake, a 27-mile, 8,300-acre reservoir carved into Pennsylvania's ridge-and-valley country, where oak hickory forest gives way to steep ridges and rocky cliffs. The campground itself contains 256 sites spread across six loops; 250 of those are configured to accept both RVs and tents, while six are tent-only. Each loop includes a restroom and a playground and most loops also have showers; most individual sites come with a picnic table, a fire grill and a lantern hanger, and the majority offer electric hookups. Every campsite is within a short walk of the visitor center and interpretive trails, and the full-service marina is on hand for fuel, slip rentals and water-sport access. Practical details to note: all sites must be reserved in advance there are no first-come, first-served walk-in sites and grocery, bait, tackle and fuel services are about a mile from the campground entrance. Recreation options fan out from the campground: boating, swimming and a wide range of water sports are centered on the marina and lake, while anglers pursue muskellunge, smallmouth and largemouth bass, brown trout and other regional species. The Greenside Pathway, a recycled rubber-tire walking trail, links the loops to the camping-area facilities and the amphitheater, which hosts education and entertainment programs on summer weekends. Mountain bikers use the nearby Allegrippis Trails and a skills park by the visitor center, and longer hikes connect to the Lower Trail (a rails-to-trails corridor), Terrace Mountain, the Old Loggers Trail and the Mid State Trail. Environmental-education offerings and concession services are available, and privately owned lodging is nearby for those who want a night off from camping. Expect recreation-season daytime temperatures generally in the 60s to 90s with cool nights and about three to four inches of rain per month; Huntingdon, 11 miles north, provides restaurants, shopping and theaters, and day-trip attractions include Lincoln Caverns, the Altoona Railroaders Museum and the Swigart Antique Car Museum.
