Kiowa Park I sits along the western shore of Waurika Lake, about eight miles northwest of Waurika in southern Oklahoma's Great Plains. The campground is spread across two main loops KI (78 sites) and SEAL (86 sites) for a total of 166 campsites, and every site is configured to accommodate both RVs and tents. Most sites include electric service and accessible water hookups, and the facility also offers two waterfront group campsites with picnic shelters that each hold roughly 60 people. Families will find a swimming beach, playground and open lawn spaces for games, while boaters and anglers can use an accessible boat ramp and dock right from the park. The shoreline here slopes gently to the water beneath large shade trees, and the views extend across grassland prairies, working farms and scattered woodlands. The wider Waurika Lake project totals roughly 10,100 acres of water and about 12,000 acres of land, which supports a variety of recreation: fishing for channel and flathead catfish, largemouth and white bass, hybrid striper, crappie, walleye and sunfish; boating and water sports across several large embayments and smaller coves; and wildlife viewing or hunting on approximately 6,040 acres managed for upland game, waterfowl and deer. The park area also has privately owned lodging and concession sites around the lake, and overnight accommodations, services and supplies are available in nearby communities.
