“The camp host was super friendly and helpful. The showers were great. The whole camp was wonderful. We look forward to staying there sometime again. ”
“The campground was the BEST! We had not stayed there in a couple of years. The bathroom and shower house has been totally redone since we were there. The restrooms is always clean - hats off to the maintenance crew. We will be back!!!”
“Loved the Campground; beautiful views, large sites, very clean restrooms. However there were LOTS of flies!”

West End Tent and Trailer Campground sits on a low ridge along the north shore of Fort Peck Lake, offering mostly partial lake views and a quieter alternative to the busier downstream sites. The campground has 21 campsites in total: eight sites are set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, and 13 are designated RV sites those 13 include electrical hookups along with a picnic table and a metal fire ring. A few overflow sites are available as well; some of these have picnic tables and fire rings but do not necessarily include power. Basic comforts are on site: shower buildings with flush toilets, a vault toilet, water spigots dispersed through the loop, and a dump station roughly five miles away near Downstream Campground. Note that West End is not staffed by gate attendants check in and out with the camp host or via the campground text-in procedure and for facility-specific questions you can call (406) 526-3411. The setting is a practical launching point for water-based recreation: two boat ramps lie within about two miles of the campground, which helps explain why anglers favor this location. Fort Peck Lake's nearly 400 square miles of water supports well-known walleye fishing as well as sauger, smallmouth bass, lake trout, chinook salmon and northern pike; the lake's forage fish population has increased fish size and numbers over time. On land, deer commonly wander through the campground at dusk, and the surrounding landscape connects directly to larger public resources Beaver Creek Nature Area is about five miles away with roughly three miles of trails, and the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge, the Fort Peck Interpretive Center and museum, tours of the Powerhouse, and the Leo B. Coleman Wildlife Pasture are all close enough for day trips. Practical booking details are important here: reservations are only allowed on the day of arrival (you may claim a site for up to 14 nights starting that day), overnight occupancy is required, and failing to arrive after booking will be treated as a no-show under the rules; make or change reservations and see cancellation policies at Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
