“Absolutely love this place to camp! I have a utv but hope this place never opens up to them so it can stay as kid friendly as it is now! Nothing but positive feedback from me!”
“Amazing place to camp. I’ve been going for years and will come back for the years to come!”

Cobb Ridge Campground sits along the ridgelines and hollows of the Chadwick riding area in Mark Twain National Forest, surrounded by oak, hickory and scattered pine on rocky tops with occasional cedar and small open glades. The looped campground contains 45 sites in total: 40 sites configured for both RVs and tents and 5 tent-only sites, offered in single, double and triple units to suit solo campers up to larger groups. You'll find a mix of back-in and easy pull-through pads; some sites include electrical service (30- and 50-amp with a 110V outlet) while others are primitive. Each campsite is outfitted with a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill; water is available from hydrants spaced throughout the campground (there are no individual water hookups). Sanitation includes flush toilets, vault toilets and shower facilities, and trash collection is provided. Additional sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and an on-site host may be present when available. The big draw here is direct access to nearly 80 miles of interconnecting off-highway vehicle loops for motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides (50 inches or less), with trail sections ranging from smooth to very rocky, steep and technically challenging; a few wet stretches have been hardened with concrete. Hiking and mountain biking are allowed on the same trails but require caution and respect for motorized users. Riders must purchase a Chadwick riding permit annual permits are $45; daily permits are $7 for motorized machines and $3 for mountain bikes and you'll need to provide machine make/model and VIN plus rider information since permits are machine-specific. Cobb Ridge is roughly 30 miles from Springfield and Branson (including Silver Dollar City and Shepherd of the Hills area) and about 20 miles north of Lake Taneycomo, making it a practical base for broader Mark Twain National Forest activities such as fishing, horseback riding, hunting, wildlife viewing and boating. To reach the recreation area, follow Highway H from the Chadwick/Forsyth area to Lookout Road the campground lies about a half-mile down Lookout Road, the first section of which is paved.
