“Always nice to be there. Friendly people and campers. ”
“Truly a well maintained and managed COE campground and facilities. This CG management is a great positive example for other COE and state campgrounds to strive for.”
“Nice flat sites spaced good with lake views. Two sites in the area where the hosts park are not flat but dip toward the lake. Campers very friendly.”

Old Highway 86 Campground sits on a peninsula of the White River Arm of Table Rock Lake, so water laps the shore on three sides and many sites are right at the water's edge while the rest are only a short stroll away. The campground provides 78 reservable campsites in total 77 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site plus a large group picnic shelter that can be reserved for gatherings. Basic comforts like hot showers, drinking water, a dump station and electrical hookups make extended stays practical, and there's a single designated swimming area, a boat ramp for launching, a playground and a volleyball court for family-friendly activity. The surrounding landscape is typical Ozark oak and hickory forest and the lake's clear coves and rocky points are well suited to fishing (crappie, catfish, bluegill and world-class bass), boating, scuba diving and general water sports; full-service marinas, nearby resorts and five seasonal commercial boat cruises operate on Table Rock Lake for added convenience and options on the water. Trails and wildlife are integral to the experience here: the Table Rock Lakeshore Trail links the Dewey Short Visitor Center to the Table Rock State Park Marina for roughly two miles of lakeside hiking where dogwood, serviceberry and redbud bloom in spring and maples and oaks turn color in fall. Additional hiking and mountain-biking opportunities are available in adjacent portions of the Mark Twain National Forest. The Dewey Short Visitor Center, near the dam, offers exhibits and short educational films about the dam, regional natural history and eagles, and a courtesy dock for boat visitors; the area's environmental-education and visitor-center services complement the campground's opportunities for wildlife viewing, picnicking and other recreation. Old Highway 86 is about 17 miles west of Branson accessible from Highway 65 onto Highway 86 and then north on County UU and gate attendants can answer questions at the campground but cannot make reservations by phone; to reserve a site call (877) 444-6777.
