Indian Point Campground sits on the White River arm of Table Rock Lake amid oak and hickory woodland, offering lakeshore access while still being only a short drive from Branson (roughly 8 miles). The campground contains 84 sites in all: 81 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 3 tent-only sites, plus one group picnic shelter and a larger group camping area for gatherings. Practical comforts are in place hot showers, drinking water, a dump station and electrical hookups and families will appreciate the sandy beach, boat ramp and playground right at the campground. Boaters and divers will find the lake easy to use thanks to nearby full-service marinas and seasonal commercial boat cruises, and vendors and resorts along the shore provide additional water-sport options. Recreation at Indian Point ranges from quiet wildlife viewing to active fishing and trail hiking. Table Rock Lake is renowned for bass fishing (as well as crappie, catfish and bluegill), and the campground is a convenient launch point for anglers and water-sport enthusiasts. On land, the Table Rock Lakeshore Trail about two miles between the Dewey Short Visitor Center and the state park marina delivers spring wildflowers and colorful fall foliage with steady lake views, and additional hiking and mountain-biking routes are accessible in the nearby Mark Twain National Forest. The Dewey Short Visitor Center (at the south end of the dam) offers interpretive exhibits, short films on the dam, Lewis and Clark and regional eagles, plus a courtesy dock for boat visitors. Gate attendants can answer questions at the entrance, but they cannot make reservations by phone; call (877) 444-6777 to reserve a site.
