“I spent 5 quiet days at Round Lake Campground. It was glorious! The weather was perfect! Campground wasn’t crowded. There are no showers, just pit toilets but they didn’t smell! I had a great time to sit and reflect and enjoy the quiet of the forest.. can’t wait to go back!”
“Sites are small, not much room for tents. Better for small/medium trailers. Boat launch has no dock which is interesting. Otherwise nice place.”
“Clean and large campsite, clean beach, beautiful area”

Round Lake Campground sits on the shore of a 91-acre Round Lake and provides the only public access to that body of water, with a sandy swim beach and a gravel boat ramp that anglers use to reach water where sunfish, bass and pike are commonly caught. The campground is arranged in two wooded loops and TOTAL CAMPSITES: 33; SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: 33 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites, so every site can accommodate either tents or recreational vehicles. Campsites come with a picnic table and a campfire ring, about a quarter of the sites have access to water, and the site is served by vault toilets and regular garbage service there are no listed flush toilets or showers noted in the provided facilities. Round Lake's shoreline is largely private elsewhere, so this campground and the nearby Sand Lake Picnic and Swimming Area (on a separate 248-acre Sand Lake) are the main public lakeside options in the immediate area. The campground lies in the village of Sand Lake within the Huron-Manistee National Forests, roughly a short drive north from M-55, and basic services such as groceries and fuel are available in town. Within about 15 miles is the Lumbermen's Monument Visitor Center; the broader forest offers hiking, bird watching, hunting, horseback riding and horse camping, OHV opportunities, auto touring and interpretive programs, so Round Lake is a convenient base for a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. Practical details such as fees, reservation policies and seasonal opening dates are managed by the Forest Service and can change from year to year, so plan to check the Huron-Manistee National Forest website or call the local ranger district before you go; also note that most sites do not have water hookups, so bring your own supply if you need it.
