Eureka Campground sits among wooded, rolling hills on the eastern shore of Lake Barkley, offering a quiet base for anglers, paddlers and trail users. The loop contains 27 total campsites: 24 are RV-designated, two are set up to serve both RVs and tents, and one is tent-only, so the campground works well for RV travelers while still keeping a small number of walk-in or tent options. Many sites have water and electrical hookups, and on-site amenities include hot showers, a playground for children, a boat ramp and a designated swimming area on the lake. A picnic shelter that seats up to 100 people makes the site practical for family gatherings or small group events. Hikers and mountain bikers will find the 2.5-mile Chestnut Oaks Trail beginning at the campground, and wildlife viewing is an everyday possibility among the oak and mixed hardwoods that frame the campsites. Activities on and around Eureka range from fishing and boating on Lake Barkley to exploring the wider Land Between the Lakes recreation area and nearby Fort Donelson National Battlefield. The lake is known among anglers Kentucky's largest yellow bass was caught here so bring tackle if you plan to fish from shore or boat. Boat access and a swimming area are right at the campground, while Land Between the Lakes, connected to Kentucky Lake by canal, provides extra miles of trails, wildlife viewing, and off-road riding farther afield. For practical matters like current fees, reservation windows and seasonal availability, check the Land Between the Lakes/US Forest Service pages or recreation.gov before you go; Eureka's physical address is 1802 State Route 1271, Kuttawa, KY, and it's a short drive off I-24 near the town of Kuttawa.
