Grove Campground sits on a forested ridge overlooking Laurel River Lake, less than a mile from the water's edge, and offers a compact, serviceable base for lake-focused outings. The campground contains 16 total sites: 12 are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, while 4 are tent-only. Sites come as single and double family units and the campground provides 20- and 30-amp electric hookups where noted, with each site furnished with a picnic table and a metal campfire ring. Facilities include flush toilets, drinking water and coin-operated showers; ice and firewood are sold on-site and Grove Marina, a short drive downhill, carries limited groceries and supplies and operates a nearby boat ramp for launching. To reach Grove you'll head west of Corbin from I-75 Exit 25 and follow U.S. 25W and local forest roads toward KY-1193 and Forest Road 558 into the Laurel River Lake area. Outdoor opportunities at Grove are concentrated on the water and on the forest trails that radiate through Daniel Boone National Forest. Laurel River Lake covers about 5,600 acres with some 192 miles of cliff-lined shoreline, and anglers in the area pursue walleye, crappie, brown trout and rainbow trout; swimming and boating are common from nearby access points. Hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers can tap into more than 600 miles of road and trail in the forest, with Duff Branch, Oak Branch, Fishing Point and Singing Hills trails reachable from the campground area. Beyond the immediate shoreline and trail network, the broader Daniel Boone National Forest supports activities from wildlife viewing and interpretive programs to off-highway vehicle riding and fire-lookout stays.
