“Campgrounds were nice, very spread out and spacious. Very woodsie and lots of privacy. Shower house was clean but needed a heater. Other bathrooms were clean also. The campground host were very friendly.”
“I think you should charge for 2 cars in one camp. Especially for every night you're there.”

Indian-Celina Lake Recreation Area
Open in Google Maps ↗
Set among the rolling hills of south-central Indiana, the Indian-Celina Lake Recreation Area occupies a quiet corner of Hoosier National Forest where two man-made lakes sit amid mixed hardwood and pine stands. Celina Lake (164 acres) and Indian Lake (152 acres) together create miles of shoreline and a maze of coves that anglers favor for bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass and catfish; a handicapped-accessible fishing pier on Celina and boat ramps that remain open year-round make launching and shore fishing straightforward. Hikers will find short, interpretive options and long loops alike: the 1-mile Rickenbaugh Interpretive Trail wraps behind the sandstone Rickenbaugh House (built 1874) a historic site and adjacent cemetery that opens to visitors periodically while the Two Lakes Loop National Recreation Trail circles both lakes over roughly 16 miles and can be broken into shorter day hikes. Wildlife viewing, picnicking at the historic site, and quiet paddling around the coves are the everyday rhythms here; for broader exploration, several other Hoosier National Forest sites (the Jacob Rickenbaugh Homestead, Brooks Cabin, Buffalo Trace and Hickory Ridge Lookout Tower among them) are within easy reach. The campground itself contains 27 total campsites, arranged in two loops, and every site is configured to serve both tents and RVs paved parking surfaces make pull-throughs and level setups simpler, and several sites include utility hookups (sites with electric and water carry a surcharge). Each site comes with a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill, and the recreation area provides accessible flush toilets, showers and drinking water; a day-use area with picnic tables offers direct access to the nearby boat ramp. Fee policies are straightforward but worth noting: campsite fees cover one vehicle for single sites and two vehicles for double sites, with a $5 per day charge for an extra vehicle (maximum two vehicles on a single site, four on a double). The campground supports a mix of activities listed for the forest boating, fishing, hiking, biking and horseback riding among them and because operational details (reservations, seasonal closures and periodic historic-house tours) can change, it's a good idea to check with Hoosier National Forest before you go.
