“The new camp host is incredible. They have implemented improvements to keep the campground green and clean. The campground is definitely making a comeback, and I would recommend it to anyone.”
“The attendant was friendly and is doing a great job maintaining and sprucing up this older camp ground. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again when in the area. ”

Curlew Campground sits on the edge of Stone Reservoir in the Curlew National Grassland at about 4,700 feet elevation, roughly seven miles north of Snowville, Utah, and under ten miles south of Holbrook, Idaho. The developed area includes 14 individual campsites that accommodate both RVs and tents, plus a large group site that can hold up to 200 people. Most individual sites come with a table, grill and campfire ring, and many have small picnic shelters; Site 14 is the designated accessible campsite with a cement site pad and paved parking spur. The campground road is paved and most parking spurs are gravel; accessible vault toilets and a drinking water spigot are provided, and a campground host is on-site. Security is handled by the host and periodic county sheriff patrols. The campground is open year-round, and the access route is described as relatively easy for RVs check the local Forest Service for current fees, reservation requirements, and any seasonal closures or water availability before you go. The landscape here is wide open sagebrush and mowed lawn with very little natural shade, so plan for sun and wind exposure in warmer months. Stone Reservoir is a key focal point for wildlife viewing ducks such as redhead, ring-necked, canvasback and lesser scaup are often seen near the shore, and fall and winter bring geese and other migratory species but note that the reservoir is closed to all watercraft to prevent the spread of invasive species, so boating is not an option. The surrounding grassland offers year-round birding (Sage Thrasher, Brewer's Sparrow, Ferruginous Hawk and mountain bluebird, among others), and the broader area supports off-road vehicle trails, horseback riding on open range, hunting and hiking. Bring extra water and shade solutions, choose a site close to the picnic shelter if you want cover, and if you plan to run an RV remember most spurs are gravel even though the interior road is paved.
