“We stayed on site 100 which is a full hookup and very close to bathhouse. It’s a pull thru and has an amazing view of the woods where we have watched the deer come and go. Very well drained while raining. Hard to get this site beings it’s a full hookup. ”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 Stars) One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at in South Carolina. I don’t think there is a bad campsite in the park. We will definitely stay here again.”
“Site 83 was nice and large which accommodated both of our tents and two canopies. Bathroom was nice and clean as well as the public areas. Will be back soon. ”

Twin Lakes Recreation Area occupies about 152 acres of mature pines and mixed hardwoods along Hartwell Lake, a Corps-managed reservoir that covers nearly 56,000 acres with roughly 962 miles of shoreline. The camping loop and day-use/boat access are intentionally separated to reduce user conflicts; the camping area is mostly moderate to gently sloping, with the northernmost sites on steeper ground and plenty of canopy for shade. There are 99 total campsites: 98 sites configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and one site designated RV-only. Infrastructure on the camping side includes a gatehouse/entrance, two Park Attendant campsites, five comfort stations with showers, two dump stations, one picnic shelter, five playgrounds, a designated swim area/beach, and paved roads and parking throughout. The campground is one of Hartwell's busiest occupancy rates are very high year-round so plan reservations early if you want a weekend or holiday spot. For orientation, Twin Lakes sits just a few miles northeast of Clemson University and is accessed from I-85 (Exit 14) onto Highway 187, with the park address listed as 140 Winnebego Trail, Pendleton, SC. Recreation at Twin Lakes is strongly water-oriented but varied: day-use facilities include a two-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock, two designated swim beaches, 27 picnic sites plus two sheltered picnic areas with water and electric service, an additional comfort station and playground, and miles of shoreline trails popular for hiking and biking. Anglers and boaters use this access point for the broader Hartwell Project's fishing and water-sports opportunities, while families appreciate playgrounds and the supervised swim areas. Reservations and cancellations follow Recreation.gov policies: there is a $10 fee to cancel or to change site/dates, and cancellations made the day before or up to the day after your arrival will be charged the first night's fee. Reserved campsites are held until 2 p.m. on the day after your scheduled arrival; if you do not arrive by 2 p.m. the reservation will be cancelled, you'll forfeit the first night and be assessed a $20 service fee (one-night reservations that have already been charged the first night are not assessed the $10 service fee). Note also that reservations with departure dates outside the standard 6- or 12-month booking windows cannot be changed or cancelled until 18 days after booking. Refunds must be requested within 14 days after your scheduled departure (call NNRS Customer Service at 888-448-1474); card refunds are returned to the original card, while cash/check purchases are refunded by check and may take up to eight weeks to process.
