“Had a great time at Coneross. The park was clean and everything seamed well maintained. The camp hosts were very helpful and very nice.”
“Great campground and great sites. Spacious and private, staff is very helpful. There is a little "store" right outside the gate selling ice and a few other supplies plus locals sell firewood on the road going into the campground.”

Coneross Campground sits on a moderately sloping, heavily wooded 136-acre parcel of mixed hardwoods and pines along Hartwell Lake, and it feels like a small lakeside neighborhood with paved roads and well-spaced sites. There are 106 total campsites: 94 sites offer full water and electric hookups while 12 are primitive impact-pad sites; of the total, 104 are usable by both RVs and tents and 2 are RV-only. The Corps has laid out the facilities to support a wide range of stays a single gatehouse entrance and two park-attendant campsites bookend the loop, four comfort stations with hot showers and two dump stations handle basics, and there's one boat ramp and a courtesy dock for launching. Families will find four playgrounds and two designated swim areas with sand beaches right at the shoreline, while picnic spots and short walkways through the shade of the pines make it easy to set up a daytime basecamp. Hartwell Lake's nearly 56,000 acres of water and 962 miles of shoreline mean boating, fishing and water sports are primary draws here: anglers chase largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish, striped bass and hybrid bass, and the coves and quieter stretches of water suit canoeing, sailing, water-skiing and general boating. The campground is a short drive from Townville and within easy reach of Clemson and Clemson University, where you'll find grocery, gas and restaurants if you need supplies. Reservations are managed through Recreation.gov and carry a $10 fee to cancel or change a reservation; cancellations made the day before, the day of, or up to the day after arrival will also be charged the first-night use fee. Reserved campsites will be held until 2 p.m. on the day following your scheduled arrival; if you do not arrive by 2 p.m. your reservation will be canceled, you'll forfeit the first-night fee and be assessed a $20 service fee (one-night reservations charged the first night do not incur the $10 service fee). Note also that reservations with departure dates outside the normal 6- or 12-month window cannot be changed or canceled for 18 days after booking, and refund requests must be made within 14 days after your scheduled departure via NNRS Customer Service at 888-448-1474 (bank card refunds go back to the original card; cash/check refunds are issued by check and can take up to eight weeks).
