About

Nevada Beach Campground sits at about 6,100 feet on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe, roughly two miles east of the California Nevada state line on Highway 50. The campground's 51 sites are configured for both RVs and tents, with paved parking aprons and a mix of more open sites and those set among sparse pines and evergreen shrubs; many sites offer a direct view of the lake while the loop farthest from the water provides the most privacy. Less than a mile of sand at Nevada Beach stretches wider than other Tahoe beaches, so launching a kayak, swimming, sunbathing or snapping photos of the Crystal Range and Mount Tallac feel like natural day-to-day activities here. Anglers can expect kokanee salmon plus mackinaw and both rainbow and brown trout in the lake. Hikers will find the Lam Wa Tah Trail tracing a 2.6-mile section of the shore, and the broader Lake Tahoe Basin offers visitor resources including the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, Tallac Historic Site and information about Desolation Wilderness permits within a short drive. Restaurants and the casinos of Stateline are nearby if you want to mix a night out with lakefront camping. The campground's sites are equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings and grills; accessible flush toilets and drinking water are provided. The Nevada Beach Pavilion is a timber-framed, open-sided structure on the beach that seats groups up to about 150 people, with 10 picnic tables and three large BBQ stations; it is reservable and carries a fee schedule of $175 per half day and $350 per full day on weekdays, $350 per half day and $700 per full day on weekends and holidays, plus a $100 refundable cleaning deposit. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov (transactions appear on statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777"); most individual sites can be reserved up to six months in advance (group sites up to 12 months), and changing or cancelling a reservation generally incurs a $10 service fee. Late cancellations and no-shows have stricter penalties (individual site cancellations the day before or day of arrival are subject to the $10 service fee and forfeiture of the first night's fee; repeated late or no-show cases may incur a $20 service fee and loss of use fees), and refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of departure. This location has limited staffing for on-site questions, so call (530) 541-1537 for general information.
