Cricket Creek sits along the Long Creek Arm of Table Rock Lake in the Arkansas countryside, where rocky bluffs rise above clear blue water and the shoreline is backed by oak and hickory forest. The campground offers 37 reservable campsites each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and basic hookups and services that make longer stays comfortable: electric hookups, hot showers, drinking water and a dump station. On one end of the campground a full-service marina extends out over the lake and provides fuel, groceries, fishing licenses and rentals ranging from boats to tubes, water skis and wakeboards; on the opposite side a large sandy swimming beach and a designated swim area give easy access to water without launching a boat. Families will appreciate the playground, picnic areas and boat ramp on-site, and gate attendants can answer questions at arrival, but reservations must be made by calling the central reservation number at (877) 444-6777 attendants cannot take reservations over the phone. Recreational options at Cricket Creek emphasize water activities but stretch beyond the shoreline. Table Rock Lake is especially well known for bass fishing (alongside crappie, catfish and bluegill), and anglers will find fuel and tackle at the marina; scuba divers also report excellent visibility and intriguing underwater features, including remnants of a submerged town and an oak grove. The nearby Dewey Short Visitor Center at the south end of Table Rock Dam offers indoor exhibits, three short educational films and trails that start from the center, plus a courtesy dock for lake access. Cricket Creek is about 12 miles south of Branson, Missouri, making groceries, gas and additional attractions an easy drive; the campground is particularly popular in April and May and becomes busy through the summer, so plan and reserve early if you want a specific site.
