“Great place to camp. Full hookups and a very quiet and peaceful place. Love it here. ”
“This park is well kept !! Peaceful but no park for the kids. The beach area was closed so there may have been a play area that we didn’t see. ”

Corinth Recreation Area sits on the upper reaches of Lewis Smith Lake in Winston County and feels like a well-organized lakeside basecamp for boaters, anglers and family groups. The campground contains a total of 61 sites: 52 dual-use RV-and-tent sites spread across two loops (Firefly has 23 sites, Yellow Hammer has 29) plus nine tent-only sites. Most sites offer full hookups electrical, water and sewer with paved parking spurs, picnic tables, grills and dedicated tent pads so RVs of any size and tent campers alike find a comfortable footprint. Four bathhouses with warm showers, flush toilets and drinking water are scattered through the camping loops, and ADA-accessible sites are available. There's an entrance station with an electronic gate to control access; check-in is no earlier than 2:00 pm and check-out no later than 12:00 pm so staff have time to clean and maintain sites. Note that there are no garbage bins in the campground itself users must pack out trash and deposit it in the dumpsters by the dump station and a dump station is provided for sewage disposal. Reservations and payments are handled through Recreation.gov (the mobile app is supported), which reduces on-site transactions. The day-use area and the lake are the real draw: a swim beach with an adjacent bathhouse and outdoor beach shower, a year-round boat launch (with SST vault toilet and trailer parking) plus a separate launch for campground users make boating and swimming convenient. Anglers come here for Kentucky spotted bass and hybrid striped bass; a 1.3-mile Bobwhite Trail follows shoreline terrain for easy hikes, and interpretive programs are offered in the summer. Corinth sits inside the larger Bankhead National Forest complex, where the Sipsey Wilderness and features such as the Little Natural Bridge, historic Pine Torch Church and Civil War-era sites give you options for short excursions and birding across a range of habitats. The recreation area is reached on Highway 278 east of Double Springs (look for the County Road 57 turnoff to the Corinth Recreation Area), and facilities such as a reservable 100-person group picnic pavilion and 29 family picnic sites make it practical for larger gatherings as well as quiet overnight trips.
